The BA Mourns Dr. Moustafa Hijazy

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina mourns the great Arab thinker Prof. Moustafa Hijazy, who passed away yesterday at the age of eighty-eight.
Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, on behalf of the Library administration and staff, extends his sincere condolences to the family and students of the deceased.
Prof. Hijazy was a Lebanese academic and intellectual who obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology from Ain Shams University in 1960. In 1964, he traveled to England to learn about adaptive child and youth care institutions, especially "institutional therapy experiences". In 1965, he received a diploma in clinical criminology from the University of Lyon in France, followed by a doctorate in psychology from the same university.
He held several positions, namely Professor of Psychology at the Lebanese University from 1983 to 1990, and Professor of Mental Health and Psychological Counseling at the University of Bahrain from 1991 to 2006.
He published multiple works that enriched the Arab psychological knowledge field.
