Scientific meeting for the National Atlas of Egypt Project

Alexandria, 23 November 2005—Today, The Advisory Committee of Geography, History and Archaeology at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) will meet on BA premises to discuss and prepare a plan for the content and volume of the National Atlas of Egypt Project.

The project, undertaken in cooperation with l’Institut d’Egypte, aims to document Egypt from the geographical, geological and climatic perspectives, as well as its natural resources.

The meeting brings together specialists in geography and documenting, including Dr. Fathy Saleh, Director of Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage; Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman El Sharnouby, Director-General of the Egyptian Scientific Academy; Dr. Fathy Abu Eyana, Professor of Geography, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University; General Abu Bakr El Gendi, Director of Central Agency for Mobilization and Statistics; Professor Atef El Sharif, Director of the National Authority of Remote Sensing and Space Sciences.
