The Third International Colloquium of the CIDEF

Alexandria, 13 March 2006- The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), in cooperation with Senghor University in Alexandria is organizing The Third International Colloquium of CIDEF (Centre international de documentation et d’échanges de la francophonie - Québec) and AFI (Agora francophone internationale - Paris),from 12 - 15 March 2006, at the BA under the theme of Transmission of Knowledge, Science, and Culture – Alexandria, the Metaphor of Francophone.
Over the course of four days, the participants will discuss the reflection of contemporary francophone through analyzing the cultural diversity from new perspective; the role of francophone in the transmission knowledge and culture through mutual understanding and dialogue among different cultures; as well as how the francophone can defend their cultural, moral, and ethical values.
More than 150 French speaking representatives from all over the world are attending the colloquium along with Egyptian intellectuals and university professors. They will conclude it by proposing solutions concerning the relation between identity and diversity and transmission of knowledge and science through mutual recognition and skill and knowledge exchange.
