Fire Incident

At 11:15 am on the 2nd of March 2003, a small fire occured in an administration office in the Library of Alexandria.
The fire was contained in that office and no damage to the Library or its collection or its arts works in suite and no one was injured. The fire however produced a lot of smoke due to its position on the fourth floor, fire fighters used the ladder to get to the room. The internal alarm and sprinkle systems worked well resulting in containing the fire to this one location and ensuring that the Library could go back to its full regular operation within few hours.
We re-assure all our friends that the Library is fully functional and invite people to come and visit.
