The BA Writing and Scripts Center organizes the first annual seminar under the title “The Egyptian and Arab Pioneers of Arabic and Islamic Inscriptions” on 18 and 19 December 2019, in the BACC Delegates Hall. The event comes on the occasion of the World Arabic Language Day, which is celebrated annually on 18 December.

The seminar sheds light on the achievements of Egyptian and Arab scholars in the study of Islamic inscriptions. It highlights the scientific methods they used in order to study, document, and disseminate Arabic and Islamic inscriptions. Moreover, it examines the Arabization of the studies of Egyptian and Islamic inscriptions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
