Elfeki Inaugurates the BA International Book Fair 2021

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina International Book Fair is launched on 16 August 2021, at 2:00 pm, and runs until 30 August 2021, in cooperation with the General Egyptian Book Organization and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Association.

The Fair will be inaugurated by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, General Mohammed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, Mr. Saeed Abdo, President of the Egyptian Publishers Association, and Mr. Mohammed Rashad, President of the Arab Publishers Association.

Dr. Elfeki announced that the Fair features around 65 Egyptian and Arabic publishing houses, and includes several cultural activities held virtually and broadcast through the BA International Book Fair Facebook page:

On the sidelines of the BA International Book Fair, a cultural program will be held featuring a number of interactive seminars entitled “The Many Faces of Alexandrian Creativity”, and tackling different topics on children, women, young people, technology, arts, and literature.

Among the most prominent figures taking part in the Fair’s virtual cultural program are Dr. Ahmed Okasha, Dr. Mohammed Afifi, Dr. Khaled Habib, Ms. Nashwa El-Houfy, Screenwriter Mariam Naoum, Dr. Reem Bassiouney, Artist Khodeir Al-Portsaidy, Artist Sherif El-Desouky, Football Coach Ahmed El-Kass, in addition to a host of distinguished Egyptian novelists and translators. The program will also dedicate a special section to the discussion of history, heritage, theater, translation, young people, and mental health.
