The International Award for Arabic Children's Literature Announces its Shortlist at the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted today the announcement of the shortlist for the 17th edition of the International Award for Arabic Children's Literature, organized by the Emirates Youth Book Council, reflecting the Library’s keenness to support creators everywhere.
Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, was proud that the competition’s shortlist and the international award for children's literature was announced at the Library, especially that this award was launched by the United Arab Emirates, which has strategic relations with Egypt and plays a significant cultural role in the Arab world through major awards.
He added, “The Bibliotheca Alexandrina sees this award as a new bridge connecting the past with the present, granting Arabic children's literature a status befitting its cultural heritage.” He stressed that every book aimed at children is a humanitarian project that deserves support and celebration, stating that the partnership with the UAE Board on Books for Young People represents a solid step towards building a brighter cultural future for generations to come.
