The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program, in collaboration with the Arab Network of Women in Science and Technology, has published the ninth issue of Hypatia magazine, titled “Arab Women Build a Bridge for Interdisciplinary Sciences,” featuring extensive coverage of the region’s most prominent and recent scientific events, as well as specialized sections highlighting Arab women’s achievements in the fields of innovation and modern science.
The issue featured special coverage of the “First International Conference on Interdisciplinary Sciences,” hosted by the BA under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Zayed, Director of the BA. This event was part of a scientific vision aimed at strengthening the mechanisms of knowledge exchange between social and natural sciences to formulate innovative solutions to current global challenges and the risks posed by contemporary transformations.
The magazine’s editorial board selected Prof. Inas Mohamed Mazen as the personality of this issue, in recognition of her efforts to transform “genetics” from a purely experimental science confined to laboratories into a “social science” that touches people’s lives.
