In light of the BA’s keen interest in the field of heritage, and for the third consecutive year, the BA Alex-Med Center will host the Abu Simbel 50 campaign to celebrate the World Heritage Day. The Center will organize a seminar titled “Abu Simbel: A Sustainable Journey… Sustainable Heritage Tourism” to discuss the brilliantly executed process of salvaging the Temple of Abu Simbel, and the relation between heritage, sustainability, and tourism.
The seminar will be led by architect Hamdy el-Sotohy, the founder of the campaign, alongside a group of creative youths. A visual arts exhibition titled “Abu Simbel through the Eyes of Artists” will be held alongside the seminar.
The events of the campaign are held under the aegis of the Ministries of Antiquities, Culture, and Tourism, in cooperation with several governmental authorities and NGOs.
