The Twentieth International Summer Festival at the BA

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Library is holding the twentieth round of its annual summer festival, which takes place from 3 August to 1 September 2023.

The BA Arts Center is presenting a selection of diverse events ranging from youth musical concerts, to theatrical performances and film workshops.

The Festival hosts a large group of artists, writers and poets from Egypt and abroad, and particulraly supports the works of distinguished youth groups. The program features concerts by Omar Khairat, Hani Shenouda, Ali Elhaggar, Hisham Abbas, Dina El-Wedidi, as well as the bands of the Egyptian Mawlawiyah, Massar Egbari, Sohbet El-Semsemiya, and others.

This year’s round also presents a number of artistic workshops supervised by a group of artists, writers and intellectuals, with the participation of a large number of young people from different Egyptian governorates.

The Festival aims to support the arts of the ancient Mediterranean city and revive its leading role in arts and culture.
