Economic reform in Egypt

Alexandria, 10 March 2005—The Arab Reform Forum (ARF) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in collaboration with the Economic Research Forum and Egypt’s International Economic Forum, is organizing a roundtable discussion on economic reform in Egypt, on 12 March 2005. Economic reform is one of the key issues affecting political, social and cultural reform in Egypt, and was one of the main topics addressed in the Alexandria Declaration.

Participants include 45 chief executives, as well as specialists in Egyptian economic affairs. They will discuss the course of economic reform that was initiated, and the best mechanism of continuing economic reform in Egypt. ARF will prepare and publish a report on the recommendations of this meeting.

The event will take place at the Egypt’s International Economic Forum premises in Mokatem, Cairo.
