Lecture: The Real Science behind the Search for Alien Life

Alexandria, 11 May 2005—Within the Einstein Symposium awareness campaign, organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, 4-6 June 2005, the Planetarium Science Center, in cooperation with the British Council, is organizing a video conference with the University of Leicester, UK. A lecture entitled The Real Science Behind the Search for Alien Life will be given by Professor Martin A. Barstow, Professor of Astrophysics and Space Science, on 12 May 2005.

In this stimulating lecture, Professor Martin Barstow will address many questions, among which are: Is there Life outside the Solar System? Is there Life on Mars (or elsewhere) or was there any in the past?...and What about Life on Earth—How did it get here? Using the latest scientific research, he will provide answers to these questions and more. The audience will also have the opportunity to engage Professor Barstow in discussion about these issues.

The video conference will be held at the Auditorium at 6:00 pm.
